St. Bernard's Advent Penance Service
Tuesday, December 3rd at 7pm-9pm
at the Holy Family Center
12100 W. Valpico Rd., Tracy
Whether it's been weeks, months, or years, Jesus is inviting you to come to Him in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. St. Bernard's is hosting our annual Advent Penance Service. During the Penance service, you have the opportunity to encounter Christ & ask for his forgiveness through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
The parish brings priests from all over our diocese to come & hear the confessions of our people. No one is beyond the love & mercy of God. In this season of Advent, we pray that you respond to Jesus' invitation to come to Him & give Him your fears, doubts, worries & sins so that you might have life more abundantly as Jesus desires for you.
If you are unable to make it to St. Bernard's Penance Service, here's the list of the other parish's penance services going on this week:
Monday, December 2nd at 7pm at St. Patrick's Church in Ripon
Wednesday, December 4th at 7pm at St. Anthony's Church in Manteca
Thursday, December 5th at 7pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Lathrop
"Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths." Mark 1:3
Advent comes from the Latin word 'adventus' which means to 'arrive', 'appear' or 'make an entrance'. Christians use this word to refer to the liturgical season in which we prepare to celebrate Christmas, and also our preparation for Christ's glorious return at His second coming.
How will use these 4 weeks of advent to prepare the way for the Lord
in your own heart?
What is the Lord asking you to get ready for?
WE ARE NOT MEANT TO JOURNEY ALONE
...especially not during such a holy season as Advent. Let us look for ways to center ourselves on Christ in the storm of busyness and distractions, particularly with this time of year.
What helps us? Creating a space for Christ and Christ alone.
Join us on this journey by signing up for Advent Reflections powered by FORMED Daily. Receive daily meditation, formation, and motivation to create a space in your day and in your heart for Christ.
